Wonderful presentation. You were very clear by making the mistakes and then showing us how to correct them.
Resolved!

I am in the beginning stages of a children’s book and I find myself referring back to this tutorial as I develop my ability to do speech/thought bubbles quickly. thanks again! itsaboutnature.smugmug.com
I would like to give credite where it is due. Thank you for this video. After searching and searching for a tutorial that explained this to my thick head...this is the one that did it.
Thanks! I do this so rarely I need a reminder.

The simplest , best & easiest lettering tutorial I've ever seen!

Excellent video so easy to follow, liked and Subscribed ! Thank you.
This helped me even after 10 years. Thanks mate 😄
Can't wait to try this later. I was going to DL some existing artwork but what a giant PIA that turned out to be. This way, it's a fully customized approach which in the long run makes life easier for me. Thank you so much!
I have a question, should I make the text bold or normal? Because mine doesn't good on wixpage
LOL 😄
Thanks for leaving this video here. This is the one I learned how to do balloons with and I use good old PS7. I haven't drawn in about three years now and am just getting back into it, I panicked for a minute thinking this video had probably gone away.
You're the best
Another guy did this in a 1 minute clip.
Barry, thanks for this. A big help for this non-graphic artist who needed to add word balloons to a photo. Clear and concise instructions.
thnx bro
This is a pretty *COOL* tutorial! Thank you, Barry!!
Can you make the arrows curvy? I like how they look in comic books. These arrows are nice, but very angular with no curve to them. Can you show me how to to do that?
You certainly made a career of doing this. After typing the text you could of done the whole thing in one layer.
why not just make the balloons and arrow on the same layer?
***** At 6:06 I mention (but perhaps should have shown) that when they are on the same layer, when you fill the arrow it bumps up against the existing anti-aliased edge of the balloon, and then you need to do a bit of touch up where the two meet. So it's quicker to just toss down a new layer than draw over each "seam".Hope that helps. =)
Barry T. Smith Barry, can you show me how to change the shape of the balloon to look less perfectly oval? I would be so grateful if you showed me how to make the arrow curved in shape too! Please help me! I can't find any videos that work for me. Your tutorial is the first that worked for me. Thanks. :-D
I don't make text bubbles very often, and this tutorial helps me every time! Thank you very much!
My stroke function is not working. It word "stroke" on the task menu just appears as dark grey indicating it cannot be used. Help!
